Server Host Copyright and DMCA Policy

Server Host hosts servers and files that owners upload (worlds, plugins, resource packs and so on). We respect other people's copyright, and we expect our owners to do the same. We follow the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Our designated copyright agent: registration is pending. [Name, address and email go here after we register the agent with the US Copyright Office. If someone copied your work

You can send us a takedown notice. It has to include all of these (this is what the law asks for):

1. Your name, address, phone number and email.
2. A description of your copyrighted work that you say was copied. (For many works, a list is fine.)
3. Where it is on Server Host, with enough detail for us to find it, like the server name and address, or the link to the page or file.
4. A line saying: "I have a good faith belief that this use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."
5. A line saying: "The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the owner of the work, or am allowed to act for the owner."
6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Please be honest. Sending a false notice can have legal consequences, including paying for the harm it causes.

What we do

1. We check the notice. If it is complete, we remove or turn off access to the content quickly.
2. We tell the owner what was reported, so they can respond.
3. If the owner says the notice is a mistake, they can send us a counter-notice (below).

If your content was taken down by mistake

You can send a counter-notice that has:

1. Your name, address, phone number and email.
2. What was removed and where it was before.
3. A line saying: "Under penalty of perjury, I have a good faith belief that it was removed by mistake or because it was wrongly identified."
4. A line saying you agree to the court in your area (or, if you are outside the US, in the area of our address), and that you will accept papers from the person who sent the notice.
5. Your physical or electronic signature.

If we get a valid counter-notice, we send it to the person who made the complaint. If they do not tell us within about 10 to 14 business days that they have started a court case, we may put the content back.

Repeat problems

Owners who are repeatedly reported for copying other people's work can lose their servers and accounts. We do this in steps and with a person deciding (see the Acceptable Use Policy), except where the law asks us to act at once.

Not about copyright?
