The hub and network commands
What players can do across our network: /hub on every server, votes, friends, parties and messages in the hub, and which commands stay yours.
DraftThis page is a first draft and may change.
Every server on Server Host sits behind our proxy, which also runs the hub (play.serverhost.example). A few
commands belong to the network. Everything else a player types on your server goes to your server and
your plugins.
/hub works everywhere
/hub takes a player to the hub from any server, and also from the screen they see while a server
starts. It cannot be turned off, by any owner on any plan. Moving to the hub keeps the same
connection, with no disconnect.
The hub runs as several small copies. Players are spread across them, and a player lands on the copy where their party or an online friend already is.
Commands that stay yours
On your server these go to your own plugins, never to us:
/msg,/r,/vote,/friend,/partyand/report: if you run plugins with these commands, they work as normal./claimwith anything other than one of our 8 character codes, so land claim plugins keep working. See Linking your Minecraft account.
The proxy also removes the proxy's own /server, /glist and /send, so your plugins can use those
names.
Plugins that use BungeeCord messages
Some plugins send players to other servers, or ask for player lists, with "BungeeCord plugin
messages". Our proxy does not answer them, so buttons in those plugins that move players to another
server or the hub do nothing. This keeps every server separate: no server can kick, move or message
players on another server, or see their IP addresses. To send players to the hub, tell them to type
/hub.
In the hub
These commands work in the hub only:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/vote <server> | One vote a day for a server. The owner earns credits for votes, and can reward voters in game. |
/friend add <name> | Sends a friend request. Also accept, deny, remove, list, block and unblock. |
/party create | Makes a party. Also invite <name>, join <leader>, leave, kick <name>, disband and list. |
/msg <name> <message> | A private message. Messages go to friends only by default and pass the same chat filter as hub chat. /r answers the last one. |
/report <name> <reason> | Reports a player to our team. Reasons: harassment, hate, sexual, spam, scam, cheating, other. |
A party moves together: when the leader picks a server, the whole party waits for it and goes in together.
Players are known only by their Minecraft account. They need no account with us, and we never store what they write in messages. A report carries the few recent messages from the reported player, so our team can see what happened.
Votes
A vote counts once per player, per server, per day (days run on UTC). The vote is made with the player's real Minecraft account, checked by our proxy, so it cannot be faked by name.
