Spawners
Stackable spawners that store their loot instead of spawning mobs.
DraftThis page is a first draft and may change.
Our spawners do not spawn mobs. Every 25 seconds, while a player is nearby, each spawner rolls the loot its mobs would drop and keeps it, with some XP. This keeps your server fast even with many spawners.
What players do
- Place a spawner item like any block.
- Stack: right-click a spawner with a spawner of the same type to add one (sneak to add the whole stack in your hand). Up to 16 in one block.
- Open: right-click a spawner to see its loot. Click an item to take it, or Take all. Collect XP gives you the stored XP.
- Upgrade with stored XP: Faster (25 seconds down to 17.5) and More loot (more mobs each time), 2 levels each.
- Turn off a spawner from its menu.
- Pick up with a Silk Touch pickaxe: one at a time, or the whole stack while sneaking. Natural
spawners found in the world can be picked up too. The stored loot and XP drop on the ground when
the last one is picked up, so nothing is lost. A very full spawner drops at most 36 stacks; the
rest waits for the owner in
/collect. - If someone protects the spot (a region plugin, say), placing and breaking are refused there and nothing changes.
- Share: look at your spawner and run
/spawners trust <player>(oruntrust). Trusted players can open, stack and pick it up. /spawnerslists your spawners and where they are.
Limits
- 4 spawner blocks per chunk.
- 64 spawners per player in total (each one in a stack counts).
- Storage: one page of 45 stacks, and 1,000 XP. A full spawner stops until it is emptied.
Upkeep
If your server has an economy, spawners use charges: each time a spawner works it uses a few charges (more for stronger mobs and bigger stacks). Players buy 500 charges from the spawner menu. Without charges, a spawner rests. This keeps money in balance. Set upkeep to 0 to turn it off. Without an economy, there is no upkeep.
Explosions
By default, TNT and creepers knock spawners loose: they drop as items, with their loot (at most 36
stacks on the ground, the rest in the owner's /collect). This is part of raiding. Turn
Explosions knock spawners loose off to protect them. Explosions inside protected regions do not
touch spawners.

For you and your staff
/shspawners give <player> <type> [amount]/shspawners types/shspawners reload
Crates, events and rewards can give spawners with the give_spawner action. Strong spawners are
blocked from crates by default.
Seasons
When a season ends: keep leaves spawners alone, soft empties their loot, XP and charges, and full removes every spawner. See Events, leaderboards and seasons.
