Premade setups

Servers that come built and tuned for one kind of game, and how they work.

DraftThis page is a first draft and may change.

A premade setup is a whole server, ready to play. You pick one when you create a server, or apply one later. You can then change it in a friendly settings page, or ask your AI to change it.

The setups

  • Economy SMP: survival with money, a shop, an auction house, spawners, crates and events.
  • Gens: a generators server where players build income and upgrade.
  • Box PvP: mine ore in a shared PvP box, sell it, upgrade your pickaxe and gear, and fight.
  • Lifesteal SMP: kill a player to take a heart, lose one when you die.

More may come later. Whether each is free or costs credits is TBD.

Parts the setups share

  • Crates and keys: earned keys only, odds always shown.
  • Events, leaderboards and seasons: timed events, in-game leaderboards, and seasons that only end when you say so.
  • Spawners: stackable spawners that store their loot.
  • Bosses: bosses on a timer with rewards for the players who helped most.
  • Teams: teams with chat, a home and allies.

How they work, for all of them

  • Made by us, with some well-known free plugins. The Box PvP and Gens setups are built on plugins that we wrote ourselves. The Economy SMP and Lifesteal setups use popular free plugins that many servers already run (for example EssentialsX, LuckPerms and WorldGuard), plus our own code where no good free plugin exists. Our own plugins only run on our network. They will not work if you move your server to another host. Your worlds and your own files always come with you. Data from our plugins is exported in a readable form. See Your account.
  • Each server has its own economy. Money, shops and prices never cross from one server to another.
  • Seasons and resets are yours. You set a season length or reset by hand. We take a snapshot and save a leaderboard archive first. Nothing resets by itself unless you set it.
  • Leaderboards show in game only. They appear as holograms and menus, not in the panel or our hub.
  • Anti-cheat only flags. The premade setups use a well-known anti-cheat, tuned to flag less. By default it flags players and tells staff. It does not kick or ban unless you turn that on.
  • A settings page. Each setup has its own page for the numbers that matter (prices, hearts, rewards and so on). Raw configs are there too, for people who want them.
  • Your AI can tune it. Your AI can see the setups and apply and change them: "make it a lifesteal server with 5 hearts". It follows your Allow, Ask and Block settings, and a snapshot is taken before each change. See Connecting your AI.
  • Add to it. Each setup has a small public add-on kit (events, hooks, configs, custom rewards and actions), so you and your AI can build on top without seeing our code. See Add-ons for setups.
  • Crates give earned keys only. Keys come from votes, events and milestones. They are never sold for money.
  • Your own templates. You can save a server's plugins and configs, and the world if you want, as a private template and reuse it for your own new servers. Templates are never listed for others. See Credits and plans for the early access paid owners get to new setups.
  • Start with one. On the website, the setups gallery has a Start with this button that opens server creation with that setup picked.

What every setup includes

Applying a setup to a server you already have

TBD: whether applying a setup to an existing server replaces your world and plugins or adds to them. Expect a backup first, and a list of what will change before you confirm.
