Plugins

See each plugin's health, search Modrinth and Hangar with safety badges, get conflict warnings, update, and add datapacks.

DraftThis page is a first draft and may change.

The Plugins page has three tabs: Installed, Find plugins and Datapacks.

Installed

Each installed plugin shows:

  • its source: a green Modrinth or Hangar pill, Our plugin, or an amber Not from Modrinth pill for anything else,
  • whether your AI or a setup added it,
  • its health: Loaded, Didn't load, or Not run yet if the server has not started since, plus any errors it wrote in the log (with an Explain button) and a warning if it is not made for your Minecraft version,
  • an Update to button when a newer version is out. Updates are never applied without you.

If two installed plugins are known to clash, for example two economy plugins, an amber notice at the top says which and why.

Upload a jar puts your own jar on the server. It is scanned before it is placed, and it shows the Not from Modrinth pill.

Remove takes a plugin out after asking. A snapshot of your configs is taken first. Tick Also delete its config folder to remove its data too.

Finding plugins

  1. Open Find plugins and search by name or by what you want ("claims", "maps").
  2. Pick where to search: everywhere, Modrinth, or Hangar.
  3. Each result shows its download count, when it was last updated, the versions it supports, its licence and a safety badge: Safety check passed, Check found something to look at, Failed the safety check or Not checked yet.
  4. Press Install. If the plugin is known to clash with one you have, the dialog says so before you confirm. Restart the server so it loads.

Every plugin from the public sites works on every plan at no extra charge, including plugins that need a special port. See Extra ports and web plugins.

Checks

We download every jar ourselves; your server never downloads from the internet directly. Each jar is checked against the site's published hash, against a list of known bad files, and with a malware scan. These checks catch known problems. They cannot promise that a plugin is good, so read what a plugin does before you install it.

A jar that fails the check can never be installed, by anyone, on any plan, whatever your AI's settings. If you think we got it wrong, tell us (see Still stuck).

Sometimes the check cannot finish, for example when our malware scanner is busy or restarting. Then nothing is installed and nothing is marked as bad: the panel says "The safety check could not finish right now" and you can simply try again in a few minutes.

The unreviewed warning

Plugins from Modrinth and Hangar install without a warning. A plugin from anywhere else shows the amber pill, and installing it needs you to tick I understand and want to install it anyway. If your AI asks to install one, it follows your Allow, Ask or Block setting and the warning shows on the approval. See The AI page.

Datapacks

Updates

The page shows an update alert when a newer version of an installed plugin is out. Updates are never applied without you pressing Update. Make a backup first for big plugins. A plugin from GitHub is never reviewed, so its update shows the same warning as the install, and you accept it again before the update goes in.

Removing

Press Remove next to an installed plugin. The plugin's data stays in your files so you can bring it back. Delete the folder in Files if you want it gone.

Datapacks belong to one world. On Datapacks, pick the world, turn each datapack on or off with its switch, or remove it. Below the list you can search Modrinth for datapacks and install one into the chosen world. A snapshot is taken before each change.

When a plugin does not load

The health column says Didn't load and shows the errors. Press Explain for a plain-words reason. The usual causes are a plugin made for a different Minecraft version, a missing dependency, or a clash with another plugin. See Troubleshooting.

Our premade setups

The plugins in the premade setups are ours, and they only work on our network. See Premade setups.
